Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 August 2026
By using linecheck.docsanddeadlines.com ("this site"), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
What this site is
Line Check publishes general reference material about residential internet service in the United States: how to find out which lines actually reach an address, how to read a broadband label and a monthly bill, how to measure a connection and record what it delivers, how contracts, cancellation, and equipment returns work, and how complaints escalate to the FCC and state utility commissions.
It is a reference, not a service, and not a sales channel. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any internet service provider, equipment maker, satellite operator, or comparison marketplace. It carries no affiliate links, referral codes, or commissions, and no provider has any influence over what appears here. Its revenue comes from display advertising alone, described below.
No page reviews your particular bill, contract, or speed logs, tells you what is available at your specific address, orders or cancels service for you, or contacts a provider, landlord, or agency on your behalf. Reading this site does not put anyone to work on your account.
No professional advice
Content here is general information, not professional advice.
The author is not a lawyer, a licensed engineer, a regulator, or an employee or agent of any internet service provider, and nothing on this site is offered as legal, regulatory, contractual, or technical advice. Reading this site, or contacting the author, creates no attorney-client or other professional relationship.
What you are entitled to depends on the contract you actually signed, the tariff or terms of service your provider publishes, and the law of your state — and two households with the same provider can hold materially different terms. Whether to cancel a service, withhold a disputed amount, file a map challenge, or lodge a complaint with a regulator is your decision and carries your risk, including early termination fees, collections activity, and loss of service. For anything binding, consult your provider's terms of service, your state public utility commission or attorney general's consumer division, or a qualified professional.
Nothing here should be read as an instruction to stop paying a bill, to modify wiring or equipment you do not own, or to enter any space where doing so would be unsafe or against your lease.
Accuracy and currency
Guides are researched against official sources and dated on publication. Even so:
- Plan names, promotional and regular prices, fees, equipment rental charges, data allowances, contract terms, and the areas a provider will actually serve change frequently — often without notice and often varying by address, building, or promotion — and any figure quoted here is an example, not a quote you can hold anyone to.
- Speed, latency, and packet-loss figures on this site describe specific measurements at specific locations and times, and are not a prediction of what your line will do.
- Regulatory forms, complaint portals, and challenge procedures are revised by the agencies that run them, sometimes without a public announcement.
- A guide reflects the situation at the date shown on it, not necessarily today.
- Errors happen.
No warranty is given that content is accurate, complete, or current. If you find something wrong, please report it via the contact page — corrections are made promptly.

Advertising
This site displays advertising served by third parties, principally Google AdSense. Advertisements are selected automatically and do not constitute an endorsement of any advertised product or service. Appearance of an ad implies no relationship between the advertiser and this site. An internet provider, satellite operator, or equipment brand may well advertise here; that has no bearing on how it is described in a guide, and the site is paid for the impression, not for your sign-up. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work.
Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorised access to it, scrape it in a way that burdens the server, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
