Before paying for unlimited

Check what is actually using the data. A single misconfigured cloud backup, a security camera uploading at full resolution, or automatic 4K playback on a device nobody watches can account for hundreds of gigabytes a month. Fixing that is free and permanent; the add-on is neither.

Seasonality

Usage climbs in winter and during school holidays. If you are right at the line in a mild month, you will be over it in a heavy one — which is what the break-even figure above is for.
